was acdepted. now that i am ready to work, my rent will go up to 600 dollars a month that i cant afford, its a trap my kids deserve a home. our local housing program requires that i move out or be homeless before i can meet the requirements of thier section 8 housing program, is there a way for me to get a home and get out of this trap?
are you saying you can't get into section 8 housing unless you move out of the projects?
are you sure that is correct?
if that is what you are saying, maybe you could move in with relatives to qualify.
i would never pay 600 dollars to live in the projects. if you can't qualify to get a loan for a house, you could rent a house for that 600 a month.
have you tried habitat for humanity? maybe they will build you a house. check it out.
good luck.
Thanks for your question! The first step is talking with a lender. See if you qualify for a loan and can get pre-approved. They'll run a credit report and need to verify your income. If you bank someplace---that's a great place to start. You'll want to get a "pre-approval" letter with an amount you are approved for. Sometimes the lender can put the amount on the letter, sometimes it's best to leave the amount off. If you're not able to get pre-approved right away, lenders can help give you suggestions on how to get your financials in order so that you CAN get a loan and ultimately a home for your family. Good luck to you!
