I'd be considering much more than "graduation rates" when considering a secondary educational placement. Percentage of students attending college, percentage of students attending technical training programs, Number of AP exams written and scores, class size, student teacher ratios, math & science enrollment and passing rates, extra curricular activities, etc.
The most important rating for any school is whether or not the child is invested in their school program and if this is a place they really want to be.....student contentment and involvement can be connected to success.
How your children do in school has more to do with Parents Participation, and home influence. You can be the an average kid in a great school and get nothing in Scholarships, or you can be the Top in your class in a Average school and get plenty of college scholarship offers.
A Priority School is a school that has been identified as among the lowest-performing five percent of Title I schools in the state over the past three years, or any non-Title I school that would otherwise have met the same criteria. Focus Schools comprise about 10% of schools with the overall lowest subgroup performance, a graduation rate below 75% and the widest gaps in achievement between different subgroups of students. Focus Schools receive targeted and tailored solutions to meet the school's unique needs.
