how much percent do your agents get from the price of sold home?

That is up to the Agent and the seller, are you considering listing your property? If you ask for a net to seller it will outline all fees and cost with selling your home assuming a target price is met. We do it all the time :)

How much percentage an agent "gets" is negogiated between the seller and the listing broker, written out and agreed upon in the listing agreement. There is no set standard or rule stating a seller has to pay a certain amount. Most commissions are a percentage of the sold price of the home; however, there are flat fee listings and flat dollar amount commissions as well.

Commissions are always negotiable between the seller and his/her agent, there are no set standards; if two agents are involved in the transaction the fee is shared; therefore ask your agent the question...

All things are negotiable. As with most negotiations, you start out with the "asking price" and try to work your way down from there. Most agents will have an "asking price" of between 3 and 10 percent of the final sale price. Typically, if they are in the higher range, it's because they are highly sought after, which makes it much harder to bring their rate down. And typically if they are in the lower range it is because they don't have as much business, and they are more likely to give you a price break. Beware, though, if they are really cheap, it usually means they are really desperate, and that's not typically the kind of person you want working for you to sell your home or help you buy a new one. If you are looking to find out what agents charge to list your home, agents can not discuss commission in an open forum such as this. You should contact local agents and can ask what they charge and most important ask them what you get for what you pay.

You'll find that what an agent actually recieves is a "far cry" from what the seller pays in their fee for professional services. There are commission splits that can be in the neighborhood of 50%. Referral fees ranging from 25-30%. E&O insurance, desk fees, advertising, signage, etc.

The actual amount an agent receives will vary greatly from one company to another and one agent to another.
