Assuming this is an apartment in a multi-family, there are a few variables to consider. The city of LA makes a distinction between tenants under 62 and over 62, as well as whether the tenant has been there less than 3 years or more than 3 years. There's also special consideration for owners of 2-4 unit buildings called the "Mom and Pop" clause.

If the tenant is over 62 or disabled, they are called "qualified tenants." The relocation fee is between $15,500-18,300 depending on how long they've lived there and if they qualify as "low income."

If the tenants are under 62, they are called "eligible tenants." The relocation fee is between $7300-9650 depending depending on how long they've lived there and if they qualify as "low income."

"Mom and Pop" buildings get a reduced relocation amount of $7050 for "eligible tenants" and $14,150 for "qualified tenants."
