Yes, depending on where you live the mortgage process length varies. I know average mortgage process in Sonoma County increased to over 30 - 40 days due to the increased demand and contracts (great housing prices and less inventory).

It depends on what type of mortgage you have and the type of sale of the property. The standard length for obtaining your mortgage is 4-6 weeks. But, if you are purchasing a home that is a short sale or needs a 3rd party approval it could take longer to close. The length to process a mortgage could vary from lender to lender. I would suggest contacting multiple lenders in your area to find one that suits your needs.
