There are a couple of ways to find out, one is to go through the books at town hall, but, with the address you can get the book and page number, from http://data.visionappraisal.com/milfordct/DEFAULT.asp
However, depending on how long ago, the purchase took place will depend on the next bit of info I can give you. When you visit the Town Clerks office at the Parsons Complex, in the vault you can find two computers where you can search for information by property address, or persons name. Using that system, you can obtain most of the information available to the public including mortgage, Mortgage Releases, judgements, lis pens etc.
With that said, if you are not familiar with looking this type of information, you will want someone to help you with it or ask your REALTOR®.
Now the $64,000 question- what information are you looking for? Give me a call or email, my office is located on the green in Milford. If your are currently working with a REALTOR® ask, if you are not, let's talk..... Good Luck!!!
Most Realtors have access to the tax reports for each property through the MLS. While this does not contain all the information one would find at town hall, the reports contain a good amount of information including existing mortgages, sale dates and prices and detailed information about each home. I'd be happy to run a report for you - this is a service I provide for my clients.

You can visit the Town Clerk's office at Milford's City Hall to find out if a property has a mortgage on it as it is a matter of public record.
Here is the link to the city of Milford's assessor's office where you can find some additional information about the property: http://www.ci.milford.ct.us/Public_Documents/MilfordCT_Asses
Hope this helps.
