Molly,
If you are interested that is apparently in foreclosure or pre-foreclosure, there are windows of opportunity to acquire it. If it is not listed and scheduled for the Sheriff's auction, you can bid on it at auction. Buying at the auction has risks. You may be buying outstanding bills along with the property. If it is bank owned, the bank will eventually put on the market with a Realtor. REO's (bank owned) homes are often priced below market and normally have little or no risks. There may be a period of time from the auction to the date it is listed. A schedule is available on-line from the Sheriff offices in Kand, Kendall and DuPage counties. Give us a call if you would like more specific information.
Hi Molly,
Depending on whether its listed or not I can get you the infomation directly from the mls or county tax records... My contact information is as follows and I hope to assist you.
Thanks,

Molly,
I assume the home is in foreclosure and coming up for auction? There are a number of places that can help you find the information you are looking for. Here are some places to start:
-Real Estate Agent - is the home currently listed for sale or has it sold in the last few years?
-Tax Records - this will give you some history about sales
-Township Assessor - this will give you all the home specific information like lot size and home square footage as well as the value that is put on the home by the tax assessor.
-Title Company or Attorney - they will be able to tell you all liens or encumbrances that are attached to the property.
All of that information put together should give you a pretty good idea about what is going on with the home. The one thing they can't give you is the condition of the interior. That would require a visit to the property or at the very least a drive by.
I hope that helps! Feel free to post any additional questions.
Good Luck!
Chris Clark
