Hi Rajj,
You can't take anyone's advice on noise levels,( it is a subjective measurement ie: loud for some not bad for others) you have to go and check it out for yourself. Some of my clients won't buy near train tracks even though you can barely here them. Go to a new home and sit inside and listen for youself. Also check out Sams link for the trains schedule so you can be there when a train arrives.
