It depends on the school. All schools are different. What area are you looking to move to and I can send you school reports.

I agree with Memorial as the best Jr. High School. Mentor High is a Huge school and has many opportunities for all types of children, with a wide variety of sports, subjects, certificate programs and scholarship programs. Due to the drop out rate the school percentage rate looks lower than it should be.

Mentor generally has good schools. For elementary, Hopkins, Garfield and Fairfax are better. They feed in to Memorial. Shore middle is also nice but Memorial is better. Mentor high is the once high schools in Mentor. It is a very big school district.

If possible, I would also try to get some first-hand opinions from people in the area and maybe surrounding areas, but those websites along with the school district website are great starts.

There are all sorts of websites that can answer your question. Here's an example: http://www.schooldigger.com/go/OH/schools/0454902244/school.aspx

The bottom line, however, always was and always is, PARENTS make the school district.

School districts where parents take an active interest in the education of their children score higher.

The important thing to remember is that teachers only have your child for a few hours each day. The rest is up to you!

Aside from that, Mentor is a great place to live!
