It would depend in what included in the HOA's responsability; if it is just street repairs and a security gate, it could run from $50 to $300 a month.
If there is a lot of common area, with a clubhouse, maybe a community swimming pool , it could run $300 to $500 per month.
I have seen really nice and exclusive places with a fee of $1200 per month.
I am not a fan of HOA's, both as a past resident and as a Realtor trying to sell in an HOA.
But you can make your own decision:
My suggestion would be to walk around and meet some of the residents and ask them about their HOA.
