Villa Oaks/Mount Eden is a very nice area but to some think it is a bit far. For resale value the Montalvo Area is a better bet however more expensive. Montalvo is better centrally located and more desireable to many.

It really is a preference thing because the Villa Oaks area has that country feel to it and if this is what you are looking for then by all means.

The Montalvo area may be more convenient and is closer to schools and shopping. But ultimately, it's a matter of personal preference. If you are looking for a more rural atmosphere with proximity to vineyards and horseback riding as well as a less densely populated area, then the Mt. Eden area is for you. If however, you want to be closer to schools, churches, shopping and other elements to support your busy lifestyle, then Montalvo is the preferred area. Children in the Montalvo area would attend Saratoga Elementary School (of which I am an alum). The district office could tell you which school children in Mt. Eden would attend, either Saratoga or Congress Springs, most likely. Montalvo is between Saratoga and Los Gatos and Mt. Eden is between Saratoga Village and Argonaut shopping center, you might say....traveling along Pierce Rd. I just came from a Saratoga Elementary School reunion party. Each year graduates from classes clear back to the '20's get together in Wildwood Park and reminisce. This past year, we raised over $3K that the school will use for advanced reading/teaching materials. It says a lot about the community and the school system that garners this much affection and support over the years. I've been a Realtor in Saratoga since 1979 and would be happy to help you make Saratoga your home....it's a wonderful place to live.
