The cost will depend on the extent of the damage done which will best be determined by a good inspector and a reputable contractor. The key word is "reputable". You should get several estimates in writing and research the contractor you decide to go with if you decide to procede.

The cost is going to depend on how much damage was caused. Water damage can also be hidden quite well and missed during a visual inspection and/or estimate. If this is your own home I would recommend having a Thermographer perform an infrared thermal imaging scan of the expected and surrounding areas of damage. Infrared thermal imaging can help locate the extent of damage.

How much damage? If it's only a burst pipe, maybe $1,000 or so for a plumber.
If the water leaked through the house and froze....then you may be looking at plumbing work, electrical work, drywall replacement, flooring replacement, and so on. I've seen cases where the damage was well over $40,0000.
