No, you do not need to have a TX driver's license to purchase a home. A passport or valid idea from another state would be just fine.

Actually, if your financing the home, it depends on your lender. As a former underwriter, I have seen some banks have residency requirements and ask for drivers license with an address matching your current address. However, in most circumstances, a passport would work for closing. But as with all things in real estate, don't assume! Pays to ask the question to your lender upfront, as a delay at closing could cost you the home and your earnest money.

A Texas Drivers License is not required. An out of state DL or passport would be acceptable.

No, not at all. There are no residency requirements to purchase a home in Texas. Your passport will suffice.

Please let me know if I can help.

No, you don't need a TX DL to purchase a home here. Passport or DL from another state is fine. The main thing is to have solid financing. Are you purchasing a home with cash? Are you looking to re-locate here or is this an investment property?
