You will not find too many fighter jets from Eglin buzzing your house in Navarre, but you will have the occasional AC-130 gunships flying around. Also, you can often hear them conducting target practice at Whiting FIeld at night. With all of that being said, they really aren't a nuisance like you would find in some areas.
The sound of freedom is alive and well here in Navarre. The Eglin bombing range is close enough to Navarre that you can hear and feel the bombs going off. You'll become accustomed to it pretty quickly, but it's always fun to watch your visitors from out of state faces when the bombs start hitting the ground. The best thing is we seldom have jets buzzing the area and the planes dropping the bombs are no louder than a buzzing mosquito.
yes, all the time. Locally we call it the Sounds of Freedom! When you purchase a house in Santa Rosa County, your realtor will provide you with a mandatory airport disclosure, which will show the house you are purchasing in relationship to the airport impact zone.

Hello! The Navy does training during the day at higher altitudes. Every-now & then, you will hear aircraft fly @ lower altitudes at night. Plus, there is armament testing at Whiting field occasionally into the evening.
