Hi Dee -

It depends on how far the creek is from the home, if there is a basement and such.
Is there any signs of problems? As far as I know, depending upon the distance from the home there may be some insurance questions. But again, the distance is key.

Good morning Dee,

Creeks behind homes do not necessarily bring problems - in fact some homeowners enjoy the tranquility of it. However, possible concerns that you want to look into are does the home require flood insurance, is any of your property considered protected wetlands, if you have a basement is it dry, and finally if the creek does not flow you may end up with a stagnant water situation leading to higher levels of mosquitos. Going back to my initial response - it is a personal preference whether you see it as a benefit or a detriment. Good luck on your home search and always check with your REALTOR if you have additional questions.

Sincerely,
