You will need to call your building department and find out if you CAN put in a pool depending on the set back from the curb and the sides of the house. My pool had to be a certain amount away from the property line on the sides and back and a certain amount away from the curb going to back of house. But I'm sure it
may differ in different townships.

Good call, and you need to be sure there aren't any buried utilities that would interfere.

It can be cheaper to buy a house with a pool than installing your own. Have your agent send you some listings with pools already installed, maybe one will fit the bill.

You will need to file for a permit prior to putting one in.
