I have visited Port Charlotte many times and am a little familiar with real estate in Fl. My recommendations would be to ask a local Realtor and loan officer regarding your situation. Good luck.

You can not be denied a loan, but HOA can be tricky. Ask to see rules, regulations, etc if the home you wish to puchase is in an HOA community. Good luck.

No, you can not be denied a loan. That information in not disclosed to a lender. I have never seen an HOA restrict an ex-felon. If you choose to purchase a house that is located within a HOA community, I would recommend either you or your Realtor do your due diliegence regarding the Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions of the HOA community prior to putting an offer on a property.

Make it a Great Day!

It depends on if the community has a HOA that does not allow a ex felon and it will depend on the kind of felony that was committed. Pick any 1 Realtor and work with them on getting what you are needing.

Yes, certain HOA can have bylaws that cover convicted felons from residing in the subdivision however this is unlikely. A lot will depend on the area you're looking in and the extent of the crime. Example: A violent crime like aggravated assault will be liked at differently than a registered sex offender. I see you're posting in the Dallas, Texas area however your account is registered in Charlotte, FL? Are you looking to relocate? Feel free to contact me for further guidance.

I have never seen HOA run background checks on any resident. I would run have another person contact HOA ask all your questions and concerns.
