If a home qualifies to be sold on a land contract then yes there is a possibility that a seller would entertain a land contract offer. Most sellers would require a credit check, down payment of at least 20% along with your ability to make monthly payments with interest. There are not a lot of homes offered on land contracts, at least in the Lansing area. The main reason for this is that most sellers have a mortgage with a due on sale clause. Therefore, they need to pay off the mortgage before they can sell on a land contract. Typically you need a seller that owns there home free and clear. Hope this helps.
