Greetings,
That's my home town, so easy! I am a proud graduate of WWCHS...we had wood shop, home economics, typing (on typewriters) driver's ed, metals and nursing when I was in high school.
Those homes are not all 'new' to the market. Whatever is on Robert Toombs Ave or one of the side streets off of the 'square' may be a re-list, but not new.
When I was a little girl everyone had a job and there were many factories, Duckhead apparel, Edison Plastics, Pet Milk, some of which have closed over the years so there wasn't just one major company. The new school that is being built on the ByPass is a tremendous positive sign in my opinion.
Regardless, it is a BEAUTIFUL town. If you want a Civil War Historic Home it's a great time to buy...those houses were almost never for sale when I was growing up there...they just got passed on. If you are planning on moving there looking for a job, that could be a mistake...if you want a great old house, don't over think it.
Good Luck,
P.S. The CSRA has some of the best drinking water in the State. I drink tap water at my mom's house everytime I visit...it Freaks Me Out!!
