Mimi,

I have to agree with Myriam. I used to sell new homes for Pulte Homes ( a new home developer) and it was in Oakley. Summerlake was the competition back then. Oakley is not as developed as Brentwood but there are a lot of factors to consider when comparing the two. Some questions that can may make a difference are: Do you have children that will be attending the public schools; what ages? Where do you work? Commute time from Oakley and Brentwood can vary depending on where you are going.

If you need more details, please contact me.

Good Luck!

Hi Mimi,

We almost bought a house in Summerlakes with Shea, we made a deposit and then we decided to back out after they gave us the disclosure documents. I am Civil Engineer and some of their structural analyses made me nervous:-) other than that, it is an interesting development but not without high maintenance because as you know the lake is artificial, the digs (you are setting well below the sea level), hoas, etc.
Thank you. Myriam

I know this area. Pretty nice homes, not really Oakley, more like Bethel Island. If you do not mind the drive it seems nice.

Oakley is spottier in terms of the quality of the neighborhoods. Brentwood seems to have a more consistent development and generally is kept up better. My wife and I are looking in Oakley. Some Oakley homes are actually Antioch School District.
