Hello Glenda,
The listings are probably showing active when they are being e-mailed to you, and are in the process of being changed in the mls system. The only way to know for sure the listing is still available is for the buyers agent to check with the listing agent before they send the e-mail. Hope this helps. Glenda: I'm sorry that you have been receiving listings that are expired or sold, however, sometimes it is difficult to control that specific area on a large scale. Each agent who posts listings on their site is responsible to maintain and update the status of those listings. Unfortunately, we are only able to police ourself in this area. If I may suggest, contact a realtor in the area that you are interested in moving to and talk to them about what specifics you are looking for in a home. That agent will then be able to set up an auto-emailing service for you that will send you only the active listings. If you need more help, feel free to contact me at tina@tinaevans.net
Good luck...
