As a Realtor there are restrictions for us in terms of discussing neighborhoods. However, I can lead you in the right direction to ask the right people. Below is the website for the City of South San Francisco:
Another great way to learn about the neighborhood is to talk to current homeowners and tenants at Mandalay. I usually tell all my clients to do this prior to purchasing a home. I also do this myself to learn about a community!
Sure give me a call if you need any information. Yes I have done short sales, it reguires a lot of patience and time, however the end result can be very worth while. If not this one, we will move on to the next.
good luck this week-end and look forward to hearing from you.

Here is a link for more information about short sales. If the link doesn't work, just copy and paste it on to your browser. http://www.realtor.org/library/library/fg335. If you have any questions, let me know. I have sold a few of these types of properties.
Thanks for the response. I will be going to the open houses - quite a few of them - this weekend. Some of the units on sale are "short sale", according to the listing information.
I am not familiar with this process. In case I see something of interest, I will need help. Have you done any short sale deals before? If not, do you know of any one with this experience?
the building is beautiful with some nice views, great access to san francisco and silicon valley, not really a neighborhood, but a good location as far as convienences. not too long ago, these units were selling much, much higher. i can provide more information is you are not already working with an agent. feel free to give me a call.
