Hi John,

There are many websites that support today's home buyers. Finding the right fit is much like buying a car...you reasearch the product, you talk with other people, and you test drive it prior to making a decision. We assume you are seeking a reliable, comprehensive, and up to date format to gather information.

Our recommendation is to do some experimenting to see what site meets your specific needs.

Good luck

Contact a local real estate agent who can work within your specifications and lender approval requirements. TRUST me so many people who call me after hoursssssssssssssss vested searching never released Realtors can deliver most homes active on market in less than a few minutes based on a q & a session with you.

Zillow is as many sites are not always up to date and accurate. What I do is put my clients on a prospect hot sheet list so that each day they get the new listings. I am not sure if the mls in San Jose offers that option as we are a different mls. Ask around and maybe a local real estate pro in your area will answer the question.

Hi John
I am not sure, but I don't know if all the MLS systems automatically feed into Zillow. Agents may have to claim or input their listings. I have found that site to be lacking.

You are much better off checking out Realtor.com, or even here on Trulia, too.

Better yet - (and you know I just have to say this...) find a great Realtor in your area, and let them help you sort through al the listings and find your first home!!!

Congratulations in advance, and good luck in finding the perfect place to call home! (Don't forget that first time buyers credit out there waiting for you if you qualify!).

Best wishes,
