Jarrod Willi…, Home Buyer in Washington, DC

Would I be able to get approved for a loan/what would my first step be?

Asked by Jarrod Williamson, Washington, DC Tue Feb 5, 2013

I am looking to purchase my first home the area I am looking for is in the ormond/daytona general area. I have been working for Brown & Brown insurance for about 7 months and I will be making with bonuses around 55-60,000 this year. I have around $15,000 available credit with no balance and my experian credit score is in 720-730 range. I do have a student loan balance of around 27,000 which I just started to make payments on. My plan is to buy a house and live in it while i do some renovations and then flip it or rent it out down the road. What kind of loan can I get approved for if I can get approved at all... I will have around $10,000 saved up in about 5 months.

Hi Jarrod.
Good question! Your very first step to speak with a good mortgage expert and get pre-qualified or pre-approved for a mortgage. There is no cost for this.
I have a really good mortgage professional I can refer you to. She provides excellent advice and service and is a local person.
Just call me if I can assist you.

Hey Jarrod
The answers to these questions are critical to the direction you take and will receive lots of different answers. My suggestion is to vocus on finding an experienced ethical loan officer who works for a lender that offers all of the loan types. The loan offiers will only offer what their lender has available. Your-Road-Home.com is a good source of useful unbiased information. The articles in the Financing segment will serve you well. Also the article Consultation,Interviewing Loan Officers. The articles are number in the order of a step by step process. After you have gathered information you will find there agents availbe on the Turlia site and you will have the right questions to ask. Good Luck and by the way your market timing is perfect. Stephen Webber
