Wishing to build a 2800sf home in Honea Path, zip 29654. Given cost of 350,000 to 360,000. Seems high.

Not in development... country setting. We own flat 5 acres, craw space, 4 bedrooms, changing to 3 bedrooms with study. 11/2 stories. Two car side load garage. Don Gardner country style home. Lower brick with siding. This is a nice home but not a mansion. Given prices of homes in the area this will be by far the highest priced home around us. Any feed back would be appreciated. We do love the area. Moving from Maryland this year.

Be sure to talk with several builders. Since you are coming from out of town you will want to make sure that you have gotten the right builder and price before signing on the dotted line. I would try to connect with people/business' in the area and ask them for their recommendations on who to use.

The price may be high but it depends on several things. What about the quality of the interior, such as granite, hardwoods, ceramic tile, custom fixtures, etc etc. But in general it does seem high but without seeing all the details, I cannot really say. Did you get quotes from several builders?

No matter what you decide, Honea Path is a very nice area.
