Wimberley question. Is there city water/sewer in Wimberley? Or, does each home have it's own septic system? What about condos and septic systems?

There are two water systems in Wimberley; however, they are not City run systems. One water company is Wimberley Water and the other company is Aqua Texas. As for sewer, the only provider of sewer currently in Wimberley is Aqua Texas. These two companies provide service to only certain areas of Wimberley. If the property is not serviced by either of these two companies, then you will have to use a well and septic for your water and sewer needs.

Most of the condos in the Wimberley area are on Aqua Texa sewer.

If you live in the city proper you will have water but probably not sewer. Some subdivisions in Wimberley do have both water and sewer. Those subdivisions are usually on small lots .25 acre or less. If your looking for a larger lot 2+ acres you will most likely have to go with a septic system and choose between a drilled well or rain water collection. Most of the homes I build are on 2+ acre lots and we are installing rain water collection systems rather than wells.

Any of our Wimberley realtors can direct you to the lot that's right for you.

There are some subdivisions such as Woodcreek that will have water and sewer, but most will not have sewer.
Usually if it has any acreage with it then you will need a septic and well.

The City of Woodcreek has city water & sewer, Wimberley has water and sewer in some areas. I would say the majority of the homes in and around Wimberley are on a septic system and the further out around the city the homes are on a septic and a well. Did that answer your question.

The companies that provide Water and/or Sewer are private owned--Wimberley Water Company and the other is Aqua Texas. These two companies supply to neighborhoods. However, there are some areas where you are just supplied water and no sewer and would require a septic. If you are interest outside of a subdivision then you would require a water well and septic. Condos will have water and sewer. To verify water/sewer an address of a home/condo you are interested in would be helpful.

If I can help you, please let me know.

Good afternoon,

At this time, our Town of Wimberley is still under planning for a city sewage system. There is no city water in Wimberley but we have two private water companies, Wimberley Water and Aqua Texas Water. If a property is outside the water lines, then a well is needed.

We have only a handful of condominiums. Similar to the water supply, if the condominiums are in-town location, they most likely hook up with either of these two water companies. If neither of the waterlines available, then the condominiums would have an on-site septic system.

If you have more questions, feel free to ask.

Have a great weekend~

There are a couple of different private water companies. One provides water and sewer, and the other just water to homes that have septic systems. The area of Wimberley will determine which company is used and whether or not there is a private septic and/or water service or a well.

The condo areas will have private water/sewer. If you have a specific address, I can verify the information for you.
