Nope! Your home must have an energy efficiency audit by a energy certified professional. Your green improvements that reduce the cost of energy used on your utility bills are the key component. Your home earns a rating and you must be at a recommended rating to qualify for the benefits of improved market value because of your green investments. Which also add to improved quality of air and good health and comfort for which you really can not put value to because that is priceless! Not to mention rebates, incentives by government, state, county and city and PGE. Energy Efficient windows, Air Sealed improvements to leaky ducts and gaps in attic or crawl space, Improved insulation, tightening of leaky windows by caulking and adding the door frame rubber to seal the gap preventing air to escape and enter. Properly sized HVAC and Heating systems, Solar Hot water systems, Solar Photovoltaics. LED energy efficient lighting. What green improvements must you make retrofit for new green laws?

Very good advice. Often for the price of new appliances doing energy retrofits will save far more than the new appliances ever will. An energy efficient mortgage is one of the best things you can do when you buy a home. Save from day one and have a truly green home.
