Why does it seem that many homes on Florence are over priced? I am taking about older homes that have

2
bedrooms and 1 bath listed for 99000 and above. I am finding it very frustrating to find a home right now because of this. I am a first year teacher and my income will not allow me to get a loan above 100,000..I did not want to even go that high to keep my payments low. The only homes I can afford are in areas of Florence I DO NOT want to live in because of crime. I checked into the fthb incentives for teachers and they only will give you help if you buy a home in the rough parts of Florence. Does anyone see this improving? I want to own my own home but it seems impossible!!

Karen your question is timely and brings up an interesting dilemna. Florence expanded or suburban is surrounded by more and more new home developments that have very attractive prices for persons coming from other areas whose homes have been selling for much higher prices. You have then the great house for the money scenario which caused many buyers checking the area not to even look at older homes closer to the inner-city. These properties really were not priced that high considering the hard wood floors, specialty moldings, fireplaces, and larger lots that many include. Some of your 2 bdrm still had dens, offices, or family rooms that still made them a real buy. Your search may take a little longer but the perfect home for you is probably not as far away as you think. With the ist time buyer assist programs and some closing help we can probably find you a home you will be happy to buy.

Just because a home is priced at a certain amount does not mean you have to offer that. There are a lot of foreclosures coming on the market. Does it need to be in Florence or can it be in the surrounding areas? Check out my website and email me and I will assist you in finding something you can afford.
