please check the school websites they will give you all the test scores and then you will be able to determine what suits your needs. i hope this helps. http://www.greatschools.com also, if you will be working in the area you should also consider the traffic depending on where you will be residing.

I can offer some insight. I am a Realtor and while I can not steer you in a certain direction, I will tell you that I struggled with this decision and what I hear from others. Most of my clients are in the 23322 zip code.

Western Branch is nice, if the commute and traffic don't bother you. A lot of my military clients commute to Norfolk there.

Grassfield is a lovely school, lots of technology and opportunities. I have found that a large majority of my clients considering Grassfield are turned off by some of the middle schools feeding into it. So, if you are working with an agent, have them rule out by middle school in addition to high school and that will help a ton. If you aren't, I'd be happy to help!

I live in the Hickory School district and absolutely love it. Hands down, I'm thrilled with our choice. I wouldnt change it for the world. I have a 10th grader, a 2nd grader and a 3 year old. We have enjoyed the elementary, middle and high schools in Hickory and would not change. We did consider Grassfield very seriously but are happy with our choice.

I'm happy to discuss further as a parent or offer assistance as an agent. You can reach me at 757 581-2722 or Barbara@militaryrelocationteam.com.

Best wishes to you! I know it's a tough decision, but it's an important one both for your family and for resale.

Hi Cj2000,

The real estate professionals below are absolutely right. It is clearly defined when obtaining a real estate license that we cannot actually provide an opinion on which area is "better" than any other. Quite frankly, my interpretation of "better" may be completely different than yours anyways. I am very familiar with the Chesapeake market and would be happy to help you out with whatever I can. You can stop by my website listed below and use the "Contact Jeff" link. Or, you can log on from your mobile device and click "Call Jeff Now" to be connected to my cell phone.

I look forward to hearing from you!

That's an answer a Realtor can't give to you, because he/she would be steering you to a certain community. But, a Realtor can tell you where to look to find that info.

That's a bit of a subjective question, because different schools have different strengths and weaknesses. However, I've provided a helpful link that can help you decide which school will better suit your needs.

The Market Insider link also has tons of other useful demographics to help you decide which area you'd like to live in most. Feel free to explore all of the valuable information that's provided.

If there's anything else I can help you with, please let me know.
