Which neighborhoods in Chicago are most fairly valued?

I'm in the market to buy a condo and would like to live within five to ten miles of downtown Chicago. Which areas have condos that are most fairly valued, based on such metrics as costs to rent vs. own and affordability? Thanks.

Forest Glen is a great, little-known, area of Chicago. Home prices here have reamained stable during this downturn. There are nice big lots and great schools. Actually, Edgebrook is one of the top 10 public schools in ALL of the state of Illinois. Seatch for homes in 60646.

Hi Robert,

Wicker Park and Andersonville are both good values at the moment -- and both have homes for lots of different price ranges.

I might recommend signing up with a buy-side agent if you're not too familiar to the area.

Thanks,
Dan
