Which Ft. Lauderdale community is the best for my dollar?

I am looking to buy a second home (not a condo) to live in for 5 months of the year and have narrowed down my search to several communities. Which one would be the nicest and safest area? I am actively looking in Lighthouse Point; Imperial Point and East Wilton Manors. I do not want to spend more than $350k

Hi Beth...if you are interested in Wilton Manors, have you considered Poinsettia Heights? It i a wonderful single family home neighborhhod, just to the south east of wilton manors...I have a client that is currently looking in your price range and you can definately get the most "bang for your buck" in Imperial Point...if you want to be close to shopping, dinning and nightlife then I suggest Imperial Point and Wilton Manor because of their close proximity to Las Olas and down town fort lauderdale...Hope that helps...I have quite a few listings in the 3 areas you mentioned, check out my web site for further details!

I'd go with Imperial Point first, then Lighthouse Point. East Wilton Manors last. I would think you could find a very nice home in northern Fort Lauderdale right now for $350k. I lived in Fort Lauderdale my whole life before moving to NC and always had a liking for the Imperial Point area. Good Luck!

Hi Beth:

Obviously an opinion but for that range I would look at in order:

1. Imperial Point
2. Wilton Manors
3. Lighthouse Point

Don't exclude Coral Ridge Isles either. If I can help in any way, do please let me know.

Best wishes,

Hi Beth:

I think you are right on for your choices! I am partial to Lighthouse Point and Imperial Point myself. If you want to be located closer to the downtown area, I would look in Imperial Point. If you need some help looking, I am happy to help you! I have been helping some else look in these two areas, and very familiar with the homes in this price range..... I hope this is helpful, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
