You want to hire an attorney that specializes in real estate law. Litigation attorneys can loose sight of the the objective - to close on the house. If you have trouble finding someone I will be happy to ask local attorneys I do business with who they would recommend in the Springfiled area. As our state capital, attorneys are certainly not in short supply. Good luck to you.

Youe agent should have plenty of references---there usually is an attorney review period after the date of contract acceptance---in my area it is 5 business days---check with your agent ASAP
