Anywhere along Hwy 370 is easy to get to Offutt - you might consider the best schools and booming area of Gretna. We have lived here 6 years and LOVE it and are sad to leave (we're moving). Lots of military families here.

You ask about the best place to buy....Bellevue is closest to Offutt so would offer the shortest commute to work if you're working on base. There are a range of homes in Bellevue, from older established neighborhoods to new developments.

Papillion was voted the #6 place in America to live by Money Magazine last year. Here is the article: http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/bplive/2007/ . There is also a good range of homes to choose from, from older to newer in every price range.

LaVista is a bit further away from the base, but is closer to Omaha, so if you have another member of the family working there it might be a convenient location for both of you.
