So if anyone can suggest any excellant realtors for the Peru,Indiana area I would greatly appreciate it! Good luck with your search Sharon. Sharon, I don't know what area you are looking in but we have a 2 story Victorian in Peru,Indiana for 89,900 and that includes ALL APPLIANCES EVEN THE WASHER/DRYER low taxes close to schools and hospital and a 2 car detached garage. Plus we are offering a home waranty. My husband shared the house that is up for sale with his previous wife who passed away in 2005 at St Vincents Hospital in Indianapolis after a long battle with breast cancer. You started at Trulia.com - nice start! RELOCATION departments within top-tier brokerages, regardless of location, are a great place to start because they have honed their current lists of most respected realtors. Corporations hold them to the highest bar. Our brokerage has earned Platinum Award from CARTUS, the umbrella organization to world relocation companies. Contact me and I'll put you in touch with our Director of Relocation to match you with a great realtor in your area. No charge to you. Your guess work disappears (as we earn credits for the referral). My colleagues who also responded to this email share great advise: Choose a buyers' agent to represent you, be sure to ask for their preferred mortgage professionals, get pre-approved, ask to be placed on some kind of home search 'auto send' of available homes set to your criterion.

Sharon, You are making decisions now involving a large financial commitment in a market with declining prices, high unemployment, confusion, misleading information, and the choice of your agent may directly affect you in many positive or decidedly negative ways.

You have a RESPONSIBILITY to yourself to choose carefully and only after much thought of the actual ability of the agent to assist you. You are interviewing and hiring them, not the reverse.

If you choose from agents here then go to their profile, skip past all the I'm wonderful info and give their answers to questions a hard look. Are they helpful, do they provide useful information or are they mostly fishing for clients. You want to choose from the non-fishing crowd.

Here is a Blog that explains things to look for in an agent expressed better than I'm capable of...

This is an excellent blog about what being serious about your choice could mean for you.

Good Morning Sharon,
The most important thing is to find an agent that works for YOU. When you get the chance to speak with an agent, listen to them closely. Are you available in the morning, afternoon or weekends? Make sure that your agent is always available to answer any of your questions. The relationship that you have will center around how comfortable you are. Working with only one agent will give you and the agent the chance to find you that perfect home !!!
When you are ready to start your home buying search, please call me. It would be my pleasure to start you on that path to your new home.
Thank you

Like Deb said, you picked the right place. You have asked a great question and one that not many people ask before they start looking for a house and a lot get frustrated with their agent, because they do not communicate what they are looking for from their argent. If you go to my site http://www.madmortgagemachine.com. I have created a Mortgage Planning Questionnaire and it has a section that tells the agent what you are looking for in a house and in them. I will include a link below.

But, may I ask are you pre-approved for a home loan? That same form can help you there as well.
