Where is the best family oriented location to live in Corona if commuting to Huntington Beach in Orange County?

Corona is a great place to live for families. Best for commuting would be Sierra Del Oro, the closest to OC, located off the Green River exit. Built largely in the 80s, the Mello Roos is now paid off, there are mature trees and good established neighborhoods.

South Corona is further down the road and is especially liked by buyers who want newer homes (1990s) and the Santiago HS, Susan B Anthony and other schools. It is set at the base of green foothills.

Further down the 15 fwy is Eagle Glen, then Wild Rose. They are also favored by many. Eagle Glen is a golf course community built in the 2000s with a small association fee. Wild Rose was built in the 80s-90s and both are close to Dos Lagos shopping center which features free concerts, kids movies and other activities.

Below that, you'll find Sycamore Creek and Horsetheif Canyon. Both have nice community amenities and lower prices because of their distance from Orange County. Horsethief, however is in the Lake Elsinore School District for high school and possibly intermediate.

The last area is Corona Hills, located just east of the 15 fwy and north. It was built in the 90s and is set in rocky foothills with shopping, dining and close proximity to the 91 & 15fwys..

There is also a new city called Eastvale built in the last 10 yrs or so that used to be called Corona, though it's located north of Norco off the 15 fwy

Those are Coronas most popular areas, though there or others that are also nice featuring older homes and established neighborhoods.

As far as the loan is concerned, once you're pre-approved for a loan, you can buy most any home. The only exception are the condo areas that don't accept FHA/VA. Some Corona homes are classified as condos because of small lots.

I just read some of the other comments and suggestions. They are all right, south Corona is beautiful, Eastvale is known for their schools and much more. I love Corona and moved here from LA County 20 years ago. My experience says Sierra Del Oro if you plan on traveling back to Orange County for work. I lived in that area from around 2003 to 2010. I worked in Newport Beach. It would take me 25 minutes to get to work. The difference between getting off the freeway at Green River verses the next exit; Surface Club, can take 25 minutes alone during traffic. That is where the big jam on the 91 freeway is coming into the inland empire. The next jam usually happens around the 91 and 15 exchange. Those are 2 big time "Takers" in the morning and during traffic hour at night.

It is in "Backup" status. That means that they have accepted an offer and will only accept backup offers now. However, in the private agent comments, it shows that the only opportunity to see the home was on March 30 and no offers will be accepted without agent and buyer having signed in at that time.

Corona Hills is nice and located great for your commute to Huntington. As far as family I think the best area of Corona would the Eastvale area. Eastvale offers great schools, parks, and is centrally located just off of the 15 north of the 91. Most homes in Eastvale are newer and large for your family at a much more affordable price. In my opinion almost all of Corona is great for family living because of the fact that Corona is located very close to the beach and the mountains etc... I would not recommend taking that avenue in our current climate, rather, obtain an independent pre-approval letter from a direct lender using your VA benefits.

Once you've obtained the pre-approval, you can submit offers on most any home.

Be sure to use a lender who excels at VA loans and an agent who is equally polished in the VA loan process and what fees are , and are not allowed.

The VA loan is the best loan available, yet sadly, many agents and sellers don't understand them enough.

I would move to Sierra Del Oro. Its off Green River. Its the first community coming from Orange County. The have a few condos, some townhomes, attached homes, but mostly single family residences. The majority of the community was built in 1989. I can give you more information directly. Give me a call at 714 386 8426

I agree with Jory that the City of Eastvale which is a newer family community that broke off and became it's own city. The closest part of Corona is Sierra del Oro which is off the Green River exit. I use to live there and loved the small bedroom community feel. Prices are a little higher and inventory is very very slim but if you are looking for an overall package of a community my recomendation is Eastvale!! You can take the 91 fwy to the 71 fwy to take back streets or exit Maple ave off the 91 fwy and go North to take streets. :)

I agree with the previous answer. The furthest into West Corona would be your best option.
You may also want to consider Eastvale (92880, North Corona). This new and upcoming community has some excellent new schools, baseball fields and parks.

A great community in a location that is best suited for an OC commute is in the Green River region of West Corona.

However, if you don't mind a little extra drive and are looking for gorgeous homes in the premiere region of South Corona, Sycamore Creek is incredible.

Prices and availability is much better in this region as well due to the further distance for commuters.

Sierra Del Oro community would be the best location and it is the closest to Orange County. From the 91 Freeway exit Green River. We are locals in this community since 1999 and we love it here.
