From what I understand realtors can't tell you good schools or not. I'm not a realtor!! We have kids in middle and high school now. We live in the Gateway/ West Lehigh area great schools in my opinion. Gateway Elem. not the charter.

Lee County has "School Choice" so you don't need to select a home based on its location to a particular school. You can visit http://www.leeschools.net/ for more information on our schools and how School Choice (aka Controlled Choice) works. Feel free to email me at leecountyrealtor@earthlink.net or call me at 239-707-4575 with any other questions you may have. I have lived in Lee County for over 25 years and both of my children went through school here with the youngest currently in college.

There are many great neighborhoods in Fort Myers. I especially love the McGregor corridor, and the Iona area. Though there are other fantastic areas as well. If you click on this link and scroll down, you can search a map of all of our area schools with their national rankings (score), as well as find crime statistics for the same neighborhoods. Then you can go to the search page, search by map, and then set your criteria parameters to find all homes for sale near the schools you like. If you take a moment to register for updates, you can get alerts as properties hit the market, matching your criteria. Then we make an appointment to go look. :0)

Fort Myers is in Lee County School District, which is has school of choice. The county is divided into zones and you are free to choose schools anywhere in the county, but are given preference to the schools that are located in the zone in which you live.
As a Realtor I am not allowed to discuss specifics about schools, but I can tell you to look on the web at leecountyschools.org to do research on the schools. Once you find a school or two that you like you can go shopping for homes in that zone.

Hello,
The 33967 zip code is close to 3 Oaks Park where there are tennis courts, soccer and baseball fields. There are 3 close elementary schools. My son actually attended each one as districts changed and then school choice was initiated. There a lots of close restaurants, movie theaters plus you have 3 outdoor shopping malls within a 5 mile radius. There are various subdivisions that will give your family plenty of choices in price, style and size of the home you need. Thanks so much for your question and I will look forward to working with you. Please feel free to log on to the link below for access to our SW FL MLS property information site that will update minute by minute and send you daily reports matching your search details.

As Terry mentioned, Lee County has school choice. We recommend hiring a professional Realtor to assist you in your search. My wife Annie and I have been here for 22 years and would be honored to help you.
