Go to Indygov.org and click on the Marion County Tax icon. You put in an address or parcel number for assessed value and current taxes. A calculator at the bottom helps you determine what taxes will be in 2009 and 2010. Any questions contact me Sharon Isselhardt, Re/Max Select sharonisselhardt@remax.net or 317-697-3212

https://www.indystar.com - this site has a tax button on the homepage - you can type in the property address & get the new tax info. Remember, by May, 2010, all properties in Indiana will be capped at 1% of assessed value - this being the maximum annual tax amount possible. So, very soon, all houses will simply be taxed at 1% of value!! Hooray!!

I just attended the Indiana Housing Summit where the Tax Reform Commission spoke. They announced the new assessments will be late. If you would like the tax information on a particular property, contact me a call, and I'll quickly research it for you.

If you know the county that the property is located, you can simply call the local assessor's office for the MOST accurate information. For Marion County, only 2006 tax amounts are being used, and for all other counties, 2007 data is current information available. 2008 rates should be out in May (if they are on-time). But, a quick call to the assessor's office will get you immediate answers on a particular property. Feel free to call me if you want me to look something up in the online REALTOR tax records, too. --Kristie

We are the #1 team in Washington Township in sales, unfortunately also the hardest hit by taxes. Washington Township is a great community to live in! Great variety of old architecture, many families, strong community. On the upside the local administration is putting forth effective solutions to counteract the recent spike (please visit the web page I reference below to see the proposed tax releif plan). Washington Twp is a great option, with a tax hike soon to be resolved. As for some additional suburban areas such as Zionsville (Boone County) taxes remain higher than its neighbor to the east Carmel. To avoid high taxes if you desire a suburb, Carmel is the best option. If you would like a mix of the two (proximity to the city with a slight suburban feel and low taxes, Lawrence is a good option (Geist). Please feel free to contact if I can be of further assistance, thank you!
