My husband and I put in an offer on a short sale (after getting pre-approval
from a lender) and knowing we would be receiving down payment and closing
cost assistance fro Keystone. Our offer is in but has not been accepted and
now we have to come to find out from our lender that our funds were not
reserved and Keystone is out of said funds. What can we do now? Are there
any other types of programs out there? Our lender said best case scenario is
we need to come up with an additional nearly $8k to continue. My husband and
I do not see a possible way to do this prior to closing.
Now we have money tied up in the deal, an offer awaiting acceptance and the
sad news is, we will ultimately lose the home if we don't get assistance.
Please please tell us how you can help.
My dream is slipping away and all I can do is sit and cry.
Jessica I am sorry to hear about your troubles.
I do not know if you were able to get the home or not but there is additional down payment assistance out there.
Unfortunately I would have to get more information to accurately help you out and see if you qualify.
I am a former Loan Officer as well as Realtor.
