It's great you are considering purchasing a lot and placing a home in the community. Lots can be bought for some very reasonable prices these days. Before you make a decision on a home, however, you probably want to closely review the Barefoot Bay architectural guidelines and Deed of Restrictions. Barefoot Bay is a deed restricted community and has some very specific requirements as to age of home, additions such as carport and porch, and so forth. If you wish to email me directly, I would be happy to send you via email both the Deed of Restrictions and the Architectural Review Committee documents.

Good Morning,

This is an interesting question...

From time to time property owners will give you an older trailer due to the cost to move it. You may want to check with rental parks for mobile homes. Drive around and look for vacant units or older units with for sale signs. Can't guarantee the free one, but the pricing can be very good.

The owners of NEWER mobile homes in many cases are highly motivated to get them off the lot.

Typically you will be helping out the owner because they want to stop paying the monthly rent for a vacant unit they can't sell due to high inventories.

Hope that helps!
