When will the $8,000 tax credit be available for payment on closings costs as per HUD's announcement 5/29/09?

They probably won't ever be, at least under Washington's loan program. Washington wants to make the loan only if the IRS gives the credit directly to them, but the IRS won't do that. One of them has to budge.
Aubrey Cohen of the P-I has been following this rather closely.
