Thanks for the reply, I realize that price will vary according to lot and basement size. The basement is 1200 sq ft. The price also includes 2 egress windows and a french door walk out. The builder said the door/window/9ft ceiling option is usually $10,000. Trying to find out if its the bargin he says it is. Sounds like it is...

Are you planning on finishing the basement? If so the 9' ceilings are nice to have, and if you have forced hot air heat they are a must have. Depending on the size of the foundation this is not a bad price. I know when I built in 2004 I was quoted 2500 on a house that is 3000 sq/ft. And no I didn't do it and have regreated it ever since. One other thing to consider if the 5000 is part of the mortgage it comes out to about 30 bucks a month more... Hope this helped.
