I have been tring to get a hold of my loan officer since monday! Tomorrow is friday and we are schedual to close tomorrow, i know its not gonna happen tomorrow. But is it too late to get an extension on the closing date? Who else can i ask for an extension besides my LO? i went to her office and she was not there. Im nervious, its not our fault for being late, for all i know, the underwriter has sent her the clear to close! What to do?

Hi Jenna,
It's your realtor who would need to get an extension on the closing date from the seller. If what you are actually referring to is an extension of your interest rate lock, then you should definitely go down to the lender's office and speak with the head honcho down there and demand an explanation and resolution. Like you said, it's probably not enough to get you closed tomorrow but a little forward progress would probably go a long way towards reducing your stress level!

Sorry to hear about this Jenna. You should definitely go down to his office and demand to speak to his manager and processor. Have them show you the loan approval and give you the current status. Have your Realtor request an extension of escrow. If this is an REO listing they might hit you with a per diem penalty. I would also be proactive and ask your Realtor for a referral of a good loan officer. Good Luck.

If I understand you correctly your LO has not spoken to you all week after you and your realtor's repeated calls. If that is the case you need to go to the office and speak to the manager. After reading all your comments I am starting to think that there may be other things going on with the loan and the LO does not want to give bad news. As a LO you are in constant contact with your client and realtor especially the closer it gets to closing time. You have a right to be nervous and I recommend you force the issue. Immediately call the manager, bypass the LO, and ask what is going on? You do not have time to waste.
