There are many over 55 condos in our area with some starting at $50,000 or less but to give you the best answer I would have to know your requirements. How large of a place are you looking for? Does it matter how old it is or if it needs updating? Does the location or amenities matter? Without having more information I cannot give you a blanket answer.

Dennis, When I checked our local MLS for you today there were currently 335 condos for sale in 55+ communities in Clearwater alone ranging from a high of $529,000 for a 2/2 waterfront condo on Clearwater beach (yes there are several condo communities that cater to 55+ residents) down to a 705 sq ft 1/1 for $38,000.

Now is a great time to buy with several bargains when you consider there are 131 units currently for sale under $100,000 some of which are even 2/2s.

One word of caution - some communities say condos but are really coops and don't own the land - like Top of the World and may require 30% downpayment and limited financing options. Be sure you're working with a local real estate agent that understands how to guide you through this process.

There are a lot of senior living placres in our area, Point brittany, Bay island, Fife towns, Clearview OAKS ust to name a few.
Prices start around $40,000 and go up to a couple of hundret thousand.
