Coldwell Banker Maplewood
I see several agents have answered your question. Most of the time the commute is 30-35 mins. Unless you get on an express train...then it could be 25 to 30 mins.
Also, when considering Maplewood...you may not want to overlook South Orange. Both towns are in the same school district. Both towns share some services. The housing stock is pretty much the same...so you may want to get on both town websites and do a little checking out ahead of time.
My office is in the Village of Maplewood and I live in South Orange (a couple of streets out of Maplewood) In reality, I feel like a resident of both towns...as it is like living in one big communtiy.
Maplewood's population is approx. 23,500, while South Orange's population is approx. 16,500. You can get demographics on the websites from the towns.
I hope this is helpful. Feel free to reach out if I can help in any way.

Visit NJ Transit Website for the train schedule to and from NYC. Also the town site for jitney information. Certainly if you live close enough, you can walk to and from the station. I have also had clients who have elected to ride a ride to the station.
I know the town well. I actively work in this area and prior to my real estate career, I own a business in the heart of Maplewood Village for 14 years. It's a great community to live!
Maplewood is around 34 minutes into NY Penn. The town in general has a lot of nice areas that may fit your wants & needs in a home. Most areas that are within walking distance to the train station are highly desired and considered some of the best the town has to offer. While others are just as lovely just not within walking distance to the station. The good thing about Maplewood is for those areas where you can't walk to the train you can take what we call the"jitney service bus" that runs all over town to and from the train so that may help with your decision making when its time. It runs parallel with the train schedule so its an added feature to living in town. Keep in mind that South Orange is also a lovely town that is joined at the hip with Maplewood but has its own train station that is a few minutes closer to the city if you want to be technical.
Overall both towns are lovely and perfect places to call home. I would love to help you find the right home in town as it is not only home to my office but also to my primary residence as well. If you have any more questions feel free to contact me direct anytime. Good Luck!
The commute depends on which train you take but it can be as quick as 30 mins.

There are many wonderful agents that live here in Maplewood. While my office is in Livingston, Maplewood is my adopted hometown. I have resided here since 1990 and have been a licensed agent since 1999. Maplewood is a wonderful town and I would love to share my local knowledge and expertise with you.
