What’s the deal with the ridiculous property taxes in the River Market area?

Asked by tim carpenter, Kansas City, MO Mon Apr 29, 2013

I am currently looking at a condo that has $3,500 annual taxes for 1000 sf. Is this fairly common for the area or am I missing something?

It's better to work with a agent like my self so we can talk about needs and wants compared to price and location. Been agent over a decade and know the area well. Give me a call to talk and the one most important thing with me is that am very honest. Don. 816-277-7055

Both the River Market and downtown areas have a CID or community improvement district tax imposed on all property within those areas. It is very large and helps pay for the extra security in those areas, focusing on the Power and Light District.

Hey Tim,

All I can say is if you don't like the property taxes now, you'll like them even less after you are obligated to pay them!

Buyer beware!
