What is the real estate tax rate for homes in Sun city Center? Is the rate based on actual market value or sales price?

How often are the properties appraised? Are there local taxes on real estate other than the property taxes above?

Of Course the most precise way to find out is for you to go to - however another estimated way would be to multiply the purchase price of your home by 2% (which usually comes out higher than actual) as there is a "graduated" scale for instance pertaining to the $50,000 homestead exemption (if you will be a primary resident) you will be able to follow at the above website.

i would be able to set you up with a free account for you to "Shop" as a real estate agent -- if you'lll send me your email.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

You can go directly to and input the property address to get the exact answer you are looking for. It's important to understand that we have a "Save our Homes" discount for owners that purchased the property when prices were much lower. So look at the "just value" and do the math using the "millage rate" assigned to the property. Property Taxes are paid "in arrears" in Hillsborough County so the 2010 value may change at the end of this year. The Property Appraiser's office determines the value and it usually runs somewhat lower than actual market value. Sometimes the value is under or overstated and there is a dispute process if you think your assessed value is too high.

Also there are additional deductions for property taxes that you may be entitled to so take a close look at the Tax Collector's site and also see the Hillsborough County Property Appraiser's site for helpful info.

Hope this helps.
