Great Job! Getting approved first is the best way to start. Now you can begin shopping and your offers will be taken seriously. Since you have a time frame in which to move, check the status of a short sale before making an offer. Some short sales can take 5 months to close. Good luck! Beth Your next step is to find an agent you want to work with and get Homes for sale delivered to you in your email that are from the MLS and not a website so you can actually see the accurate info as opposed to advertisements.

Go out and see homes for sale so you know how the market is.

You're on the right path. Get started right away as it's difficult to find a good quality property in California's tight housing market. Meanwhile, try to save up as much cash as you can to give yourself the most flexibility in competing for deals.
