What is the best way to go about getting a loan for a first time home owner with less than ideal credit?

We are a young couple with good jobs, 2 kids, and 2 dogs(which make it hard to find a place to rent). We are looking for a house around the pekin area, but neither of us have very good credit, nor have we ever purchased a home.

A FHA or USDA loan would do the trick for you.

I am a mortgage broker. If I can be of service, please let me know!

Darcy gave great advise. For a list of lenders go to http://www.WeSellPekin.com and click on the mortgage info tab.

Hope this added info helps!

Your credit will be very important for obtaining financing. My best advice is to contact a local lender and get pre-approved. If your credit score will not allow you to currently receive financing, a good lender will be able to council you on what to do in the following months to improve your credit. In addition, you can receive a free copy of your credit report by going to http://www.freecreditreport.com. Good luck
