HI Katie - the local news publications should have open house directories, and Trulia also allows agents to advertise their open houses - so you can see time and dates. Also, check out zillow.

Katie:

I am not sure if you have purchased a home yet but outside of our office, Southland Properties, we have a cart that has all of the current listings in Glendora and the surrounding cities, all current bank owned property listings in Glendora and the surrounding area, and all Homes for rent in Glendora and the surrounding areas. Unless it is raining or windy, you can stop by and pick up a list anytime day or night, and by some chance there is something that interests you just give me a call and I would be happy to show you the property. Good Luck and happy shopping.

Hi Katie,

Most local newspapers have some open house listings, Trulia has them, also a local real estate office can get you a list. If the area you like is a gated community, the guard at the gate can get you a list also.

Have fun....love wandering through open houses.

Hi Katie,

Most open houses are not advertised at all. The best way is to just drive in the neighborhoods you are interested in. I'm in your area. I'd be happy to help you. I can get you set up on an auto email for the area & price range you are interested in. That way as soon as something comes on the market, you'll be notified.
Please feel free to contact me any time.

Hi Katie:

First time buying a home is not only exciting but also can be a little scary. Driving the area’s that you like is always a fun thing to do, but more importantly before you even start looking you want to talk to a lender and get approved. The reason for this is to make sure that everything is good on your credit report, to have a more precise idea of what price of home will be a good fit for your family. You will know how much money you need for a down payment and you will have a better understanding of the types of loans that are available to you. Interest is low which makes your home affordability higher than it was in the past. So now is defiantly the time to purchase.

The other reason is because that when you find the home of your dreams you are ready to put an offer on right then. If it is a good home and priced right they usually go fast, so having to go through the approval process after you find your home, could mean loosing the opportunity to purchase that home, and then you are always comparing to the one that got away.

Once you have a pre approval letter and a price point, then you want to have a Realtor on your team to help you with the search and the purchase.

It sounds like maybe since you want to know where the open houses are, it is because your not sure what you want, but what better way then to look at homes that you know you can purchase than just looking at open houses.

Most open houses are really not publicized in any one particular place, it requires the Realtor to input the information, which in most cases does not happen….driving around the area and following the signs are usually the best bet.

Remember information is free, knowledge is priceless always use a Realtor who has the knowledge.

Call me if you have any more questions that I can help you with and let’s start looking for your new home.

Hello Katie,

First congratulations on your recent marriage. Best wishes to you both.

When buying your first home you shouldn't go it alone. Many first time home buyer often aren't aware that the expenses of using a realtor are paid buy the home seller not the buyer. That being said you don't have to wait for that perfect home to have an open house before seeing it. As a matter of fact I can put together a list of homes matching your specific home buying criteria and send it directly to your email for you to review. You will see details of the homes; see pictures and detailed maps of the each home. Then after you have reviewed the list and have picked you favorites, I can schedule a private viewing of the home at your convenience.

Please contact me at your earliest convenience for us to discuss what you are looking for.

Blessings

so many forms of information. I try to post on them all when I have an upcoming Open House. Homes.com, Realtor.com, Trulia.com, the newspaper on Sat &/or Sunday (San Gabriel Tribune & Times) and follow the arrows on the signs

Your dream home may not even be scheduling open houses at all. I'm sure you know roughly the areas / neighborhoods you'd like to live in, just drive through these areas on any Saturday or Sunday & there surely are open houses going on.

The only problem with this is, it's a shot in the dark that the right size, right priced home for you is just going to be doing an open house that day.

Feel free to go to my web link where you can search in the MLS just like I do, get a good feel for the neighborhood you're interested in & then I can OPEN the homes for you!

Hi, Trulia, Realtor.com, and Craigslist.com are great ways to find out about open houses.

Not sure about your area, but Trulia is definitely not the best option in the Bay Area. Presumably you have public access to the MLS down there - if so, that is going to be the most accurate, up-to-date source for listed properties and open houses. Perhaps an agent in your area can post a link.

Hi Katie,

You can find a list of the open houses in the area through Trulia - check the following link:

http://www.trulia.com/CA/Glendora/#for_sale/Glendora,CA/p_oh/

This may not be all of the open houses, but at least it will give you a good place to start. A good agent will also be able to provide you with information on open houses in your area. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck in your search!
