I think many people are attracted to the ability to work in Jacksonville, but live outside of the busy city. It is especially a neutral location if you need to travel between St Augustine and Jacksonville as many households do.

A great community if you don't mind driving 30 miles or so to Jacksonville for a larger variety of shopping. A Lowes a little closer in would be great!

This is a great question. This is a newer area so everything is extremely nice. The area offers a lot great homes, shopping, food, gulf, and entertainment. It is also close to Jacksonville which has everything a person would need. Right now you can get some great deals in the area. If you are thinking of looking at some houses, please let me know. I would be happy to show you some houses. Feel free to email me willbr3@yahoo.com. Hope to hear from you. Best of luck.

I'm looking to this location as a potential place to get a retirement home. But my husband is hesitant of the Cascades since he doesn't want to be in the old fellows crowd yet. Quick one of the many communities would you recommendedfor a couple that are still active but would prefer to stay away fromteenagers. Also, could you let me know if there is any actual shshopping area inside the WGV? That would be a great plus to convince my hubby.
Thanks much

Good Evening,

As Jeff stated previously, the World Golf Village is great place to live. It is a golfers heaven! Not only does it feature the World Golf Hall of Fame, and the largest Imax on the east coast, it also has two of the best golf courses in Saint Johns County: The King & Bear and The Slammer & Squire. The King & Bear was named after its co-designers Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus. The Slammer & Squire named after its co-designers Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen. The World Golf Village is also within a 15 minute drive to historic downtown St. Augustine, the Nations Oldest City, and a 35 minute drive to the city of Jacksonville. The World Golf Village features communities of single family homes, carriage homes, and condos that range from the low 100's to the millions. A list of communities can be found in the second link below. Please don't hesitate to contact me for more information and a personal tour of the World Golf Village.
